This course is designed to teach you how to read and write the Arabic alphabet, to be able to establish a relationship with the original revelation of the Qur'an.

  2. Note: you will receive the Course Packet, textbook, and a copy of Qur'an when you come to class
  3. If you want: you can print out the Course Packet and start filling out the "Letters to Self"
  4. If you want a different kind of Qur'an from the standard copy we provide (such as a large-print edition, or pocket-size, or broken into parts), you can order one yourself, but make sure to get one that is “Uthmani script”, entirely in Arabic, and not color-coded for tajweed (ask your instructor if you are unsure of this)
  5. Prepare to be assessed in this lesson's material
